Mid-way May Notables

I thought I’d share what has left some sort of impression on me so far this month.

Firstly, two weeks ago my War & Society professor showed my class Night & Fog. It’s a Holocaust film made in 1955 and happens to be the first film ever made officially made about the horrible event. Strangely it is such a eye opening point of view of what happened and really gets the point across. I’m a history major and like everyone else I’ve learned about the Holocaust since elementary school but this film was totally different and gave a refreshingly blunt view of the time. Just a warning, it is awfully disturbing as some points.

Second is Iron Man 3. To be honest I was never an Iron Man fan until I saw and loved the Avengers. I watched the fist two and thought they were good but not amazing. However, the third one is an awesome summer blockbuster to see for a good time. RDJ is a riot as usual.

Next, The Paperboy came out on Netflix Streaming and I watched it for the first time. I thought it was a really good story with impressive acting on Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron’s part. It was better than I expected. A good, rainy, summer day movie.

The fourth on my list isn’t a movie, but a video game. Since I’m done with school for the summer I’ve had more time to myself and started play 007 for Wii. It’s basically the same 007 game from N64 but with better graphics and Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan.

And lastly is The Great Gatsby. I have mixed emotions about this movie but when it comes down to it, I liked it. The music is awesome separate from the film, but it shouldn’t have been in the movie. The roaring 20’s is a MAJOR part of The Great Gatsby and music is a MAJOR part of the roaring 20’s so it was just out of place. The acting was good, the costumes were brilliant and the set was beautiful. Once again, a good sumer movie to watch.

That is all for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
